"SAGE": kostenloses Python-basiertes Mathematik-System für Forschung und Lehre

Wem Programme wie "Mathematica", "Maple", oder "Matlab" etwas sagen, der sollte sich auf jeden Fall das kostenlose Python-basierte Open-Source-System "SAGE" genauer anschauen. "SAGE" (Mac OS X) unterstützt eine ganze Reihe von Mathematik-Bereichen, darunter Algebra, Calculus, Zahlentheorie, Kryptographie, Numerik, Gruppentheorie, Kombinatorik, Graphentheorie oder lineare Algebra, und darüber hinaus natürlich alles, was "Python" von Haus aus unterstützt (etwa das funktionale, objektorientierte Programmieren). Aus "SAGE" heraus können auch alle proprietären und freien Mathe-Systeme verwendet werden.
