Adobe veröffentlicht weitere Flash-Technologien als Open Source

Als Antwort auf Microsofts "Silverlight 3" hat Adobe System jetzt seinen "Flash Platform Media Player" (Codename: "Strobe") als "Open Source Media Framework" (OSMF) und sein "Flash Text Layout Framework" (TLF) veröffentlicht.

Adobes Informationen zu OSMF ("Open Source Media Framework")

Open Source Media Framework enables developers to easily assemble pluggable components to create high-quality, full-featured playback experiences. The open aspect of the framework enables collaborative development for web video monetization, with lower costs and faster turnaround.
This site is intended to facilitate the development and sharing of open standards and best practices for video player applications built on the Adobe Flash Platform. This site serves as a resource for the industry, encouraging the use of standards and best practices and offering the open source library.
This site is focused on the development of Open Source Media Framework, which can be leveraged in Adobe ActionScript 3 or MXML."

Adobes Informationen zu TLF ("Text Layout Framework")

"TLF goes beyond what is possible for Web text layout using HTML and CSS technologies today, with support for complex languages, bidirectional text, multi-columns and other advanced typographical features and controls. TLF is an extensible ActionScript library built on top of the text engine in Adobe Flash Player 10 and Adobe AIR 1.5 software. Source code and component library for TLF are available as open source at no charge under the Mozilla Public License at http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/tlf/."
